We like the glass collection tube and the diameter of the glass opening.We would have preferred another 10-12 inches in the connection rods

My glass busted at the bottom after a thunderstorm. I guess the wind knocked it around in the holder. I tried to superglue it since it was a clean break, but the rain water does drip out of one side.

wish the tube was larger an the stand a bit taller. Otherwise fine

This gauge arrived today, 9/1/2023. I just missed being able to measure the downpour of the latest hurricane. The gauge has been placed in the open backyard waiting for the next rain. When put together and inserted into the ground it does not stand very tall (22 inches). I figure I can always pull the glass out of the holder and measure the amount of rainfall at eye level. It does have the means to attach it to a post when available. The quality of the glass appears to be good although I can't measure the thickness of the glass walls. We do not get freezing weather here very often so the glass breaking from freezing water is not one of my top concerns. Gauge accuracy is hard to determine unless measured against a like container will similar dimensions and volume. Oh well, if it is close, good enough for me.
