Installed on a Briggs and Stratton 22hp 0317 E1 engine. I would have given 5 stars but as others have said, mounting holes are smaller than the original alternator and the screws that come with this new one are too small. So I chose a drill bit a hair larger than the hole and...it got stuck and broke off. Luckily I punched it out and went with a smaller bit that I used to ream out the holes. Bottom line, installed the new alternator with the original screws, made the simple connections to the new voltage regulator, it's now charging 13.4 volts.

1 wire instead of 2 like original but came with regulator for 1 wire so It works.

To mount this stator, you have to drill out the holes with the number 19 drill bit. The screws they send does not tighten in the original mounts. They're just too small. Stator works good after you drill it and use the original screws. If you can't do the drilling, don't buy it!
