Charge this through the supplied USB-C cable, using a phone-type charger (or a USB-A slot on a PC, of course, or even a power bank) and it’s ready to go. It’s compact, fitting comfortably in a palm, and seems durably constructed. It isn’t the quickest rangefinder to use. You have to focus manually and then cycle through modes to the one you want. It does remember the mode last used, though, so most of the time there’s no need to change it – you may find you always use the same one. I wish I could choose ‘favourite’ modes, though, to reduce the number I have to cycle through. As for accuracy, I haven’t had a chance to check it to the nearest few metres. It certainly isn’t far off, however, and seems closer than my GPS watch, if the course-stated distances are to be believed..The magnetic belt/bag clip is a good idea and has held the finder reliably, so far, if you don’t want to attach it to a steel surface on your bag or cart. A hard case is provided; it's very welcome. The whole things is nicely boxed, too, so would make an attractive gift. The price has gone down recently, to £79.68 after £20 voucher. If you can buy it for that price or less, it’s good value.

Having tried a few different range finders out I think this offering from GLXY is decent. It's well made and comes with a good storage case and magnetic belt clip which really comes in handy. It's rechargeable via USB-C which is great because it me as I can charge it in the car or with a power bank if I run out of juice on the go. That being said battery life doesn't seem to be an issue and I just charge it after I use it which keeps it going without fail. It's lightweight and nice in the hand. I found it simple and intuitive to use- it has various different modes to choose from and after a bit of playing around with it I found the operation quick and simple. I tested it against a fixed point behind my garden that I know the distance of and found it to be accurate.I found the image through the lens crystal clear and sharp.Personally for me I've no reason to mark this down - at the time of writing its just under £80 when bought with the current voucher which is really good value for money.

Disappointing. Unnecessarily overcomplicated and not that reliable.I have a Bushnell so was able to test it against the market leader. For context, my Bushnell is very simple. It offers just the one display where you can measure an object with a single press or hold the button and scan the flag for distance to the pin. Actual distance and slope calculated distance are shown on the same display. With this rangefinder, there are lots of different modes. In order to get a slope calculated distance to the pin you need to cycle through several different modes before getting to the one you want. Then when pressing the button with the pin in sight, it gave an incorrect reading most times. I was verifying this with my gps watch at the time. It appeared to be picking up something in the background and not the actual pin. I found it more accurate when using the pin measuring mode without slope. It seemed to pause for a brief second before showing the result, making me feel it properly measured it. With the pin & slope mode it didn't pause, as if it hadn't picked up the pin. Speaking of slope, why is there a button to turn it off and on? Why would I not want to know that calculation?!Something else I wasn't keen on was the focus wheel. I don't have to focus on anything with the Bushnell. It just seems to be sharp at all distances. With this you need to focus a fair bit if your distances change much. Another time consuming element of using this rangefinder.I don't like that it has a rechargeable battery as well because that is going to be a point of failure in the future, at which point this will succumb to the bin. I'd much prefer a replaceable battery.I don't know why it needs to have so many modes. It should be a quick and simple tool to use and as a golfer I mostly just want to be able to scan a bunker, tree or pin. I don't want to be cycling through 7 different modes (although it does remember your last mode). There are some nice features, though. I like the magnetic section which means you can securely attach it to a buggy or metal cart and if you don't have either of those, there is a metal clip you can attach to your bag. It's pretty easy to see through and the case offers a good amount of protection.Fundamentally, it fails at it's number 1 job for me and that is to provide quick but accurate measurements consistently. I would probably continue to use it if I didn't have a Bushnell but since I have, I will not.

Ordered and given to a friend as a gift who is quite an accomplished golfer. Has been using it for a few weekends now and is impressed. Hasn't used one before but the reports the main benefit is the range function on slopes. He's normally pretty good at distance but reckons it made the difference on a few occasions. Although I don't think your allowed to use the slope function in a tournament.Takes a bit of time to get used to the multifunction buttons but after a while becomes second nature. He's reporting more people using them now in the clubs.Good value and does everything that all the other range finders seem to do and not overly expensive. Distances measured are in tolerence when compared to other rangefinders at his club.

This item was supplied to me free of charge through Amazon’s Vine program; however this in no way influences my review, all items I request are products that I have a use for or will use and the reviews i then submit are intended to be both impartial and informative for potential purchasers.Comes in a nice box and hard case which will definitly protect the device and keep it safe against teh worst knocks. It's super simple to use and operate, i love the USB C charging capability, everything seems to be switching now which is nice. The power button and mode switch are on the top and looking through the device, pressing hte mode button will switch it between Flag Lock,Vibration, Distance & Speed & Fog Mode, Magnetic Suction. You can also use this for more than golf but that would be an individual choice. The distances were pretty accurate against something i knew what the distance was.Was curious for if this would help as much as they claim but i have been using this slightly differently. Ive never really had a great issue with judging distances to the hole for approaches, i have been using this more for those inbetween bit on the longer holes.
