I bought this “tomahawk” because I was looking for a small, lightweight axe that I could carry while hiking or camping without much of a weight penalty. This product fits the bill and is nicely made.The handle is made from some kind of high-impact plastic that is lightweight but so far seems strong enough to hold up to normal use. The blade is fixed to the handle via 2 hex screws in the top third of the handle, suggesting that the blade has a section that extends down into the handle for strength. The blade itself is sharp and features integrated tools. The back end of the blade is ground to a point which is useful for piercing or snagging objects. A slot cut into the blade is notched to act as several metric sizes and a ¼” standard size of hex wrench which does work but is, in practice, of limited utility due to the size and thickness of the blade: Only hex bolts/screws standing proud of the surface they’re screwed into with no other close obstructions will be accessible to this tool. The top of the blade is also cut to have a bottle opener that works and is more useful. A small carabiner-type clip is also found in the top of the blade and is at best useful for hanging the tool or pulling a lightweight line along; the clip isn’t strong enough to be trusted with more than the weight of the tool.As for actual “tomahawk” use: Well, I haven’t tried throwing this thing yet. If I do, I’ll update this review with the results.Finally, the tomahawk comes with a nylon sheath to cover the blade when not in use. The sheath slides on from the handle and has a snap cover over the top of the blade to keep the sheath on. The back of the sheath has a nylon belt loop, but it’s fairly tight and narrow, so this will work fine with lashing or compression straps on a backpack, but not so much on a waist belt.Overall, though, this is a nice, relatively lightweight axe for hiking or camping that will be useful for chopping kindling, hammering stakes (using the flat side of the blade), and for any other tasks a small hand-axe could be used for.

I got the “Set of four Pizza” and they are beautiful: very nice wooden handles, full tang, and an extraordinary design. They are really different from anything else I have ever seen in the class of “steak knives”.For the same reasons, these would be a very nice gift for someone “who has everything”: s/he certainly does not have anything even similar to these !And they are pretty big (see the presentation page photos, they give a precise idea).

Multifunktionales Beil! Wirkt alles recht robust. Man hat einen guten Griff wegen Gummierung. Säge ist scharf. Beil ist bis zur Schneide lackiert, aber das blättert dort bei Benutzung (oder Berührung) sofort ab und gibt die Schneide frei. Feuerstahl und Pfeife kann man immer mal brauchen :-)Kein absolutes Profi-Teil, aber kompakte Multifunktionslösung für Camping, Bushcraft oder Garten.

Es muy bonita para la colección, ignoro si su funcionalidad es buena. También es bastante compacta sin llegar a ser "mini"

Auf der Suche nach einem stilvollen kleinen Beil zum spalten von Kleinholz für Lagerfeuer und zum groben schnitzen von Weichholz bin ich bei Amazon auf dieser Seite fündig geworden.Ich habe bewusst die etwas teurere Variante mit dem Stiel aus Walnussholz mit dem rustikalem Aussehen gewählt weil sie mir am besten gefiel.Die Lieferung war bei Amazon wie immer sehr schnell.Auspacken und los geht es zum kleinholzspalten.Was mir als negativ auffiel war die etwas wackelige Einstielung des Beils und eine Außermittige Befestigung des Stiels im Axtkopf. Den Axtkopf habe ich nun durch das Eintreiben von zwei kleineren Querkeilen ordentlich befestigen können. Für den Hersteller würde ich anregen den Beilstiel vor der Befestigung mit Längs und Querkeil vorher mit einem geeigneten Kleber einzukleben. Bei der Schmiedearbeit stürz mich hauptsächlichst die Außermittige Befestigung des Beilstieles. Da könnte vielleicht noch etwas nachgebessert werden.Zur Pflege des Axtkopfes verwende ich Ballistol Universalöl und für den Beilstiel Schaftöl der Firma Ostermann. Es wäre aber auch möglich einfach Leinöl für die Holzpflege zu verwenden.Den Axtkopfrücken würde ich persönlich nicht als Hanmmer verwenden und zum Holzspalten würde ich auch niemals mit einem Schlosserhammer auf den Axtkopfrücken schlagen sondern nur mit einem Gummihammer oder einem Holzscheit.Fazit : Axtkopfgeometrie und Einstielung sind mittelmäßig, deshalb habe ich auch einen Stern in meiner Bewertung abgezogen.Grundschärfe und die Güte des verwendeten Stahls sind gut.Preis Leistungsverhältnis :das Beil mit seinem urigem Aussehen kann sich sehen lassen und schlägt bei mir die anderen Hersteller bei denen man wesentlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen müsste.Über die Langlebigkeit bei guter Pflege kann ich hier leider noch nichts sagen, ich hoffe aber das ich das Beil einmal meinen Enkelkindern weiter vererben kann.

I ordered this hatchet for camping purposes. We enjoy camping and when we camp we like to sit back and enjoy a nice fire. That being said this hatchet is great for cutting and splitting wood. It's really sturdy and easy to utilize. It's got a heavy duty build feeling to it while being light weight and easy to yield. The hang has a great grip to it and feels very comfortable to hold. The blade is sharp and ready to get to work straight out of the boxing. I love that this hatchet comes with a nice little rubber sheath, a well made leather sheath with a snap buckle and a sharpening stone/tool. The nice dual layer sheath makes the axe feel nice and safe even when it's stored in our camping or survival pack back. The axe does fit attach to our tactical survival bag easily through the buckles and straps on the side. The one this I don't understand it the little metal pieces that come in a little plastic bag with the axe. They look like the ring at the top of the axe but, there's no instructions for how to utilize them so, I don't honestly know what they're used for.Overall this are is excellent! It has everything needed to maintain good longevity. It feels sturdy and well made. Not to mention it look great! I'm very happy with this axe and would happily highly recommend it for camping or survival purposes! This is an excellent and useful tool that is easy to work with and feels very well crafted.
