Years ago I had one of these and the chrome portion was a heavier weight and larger than this one so I was a little disappointed in my purchase but it has a better elastic and grips the fabric well so I will be using it often for mending. Considering how things are made today it is reasonably priced.

I always regret not being good at sewing. My large hand, lack of practice, etc. makes my sewing a labor. This gadget has a WOW factor!I bought it to darn holes in jean pockets. The very first hole was darned in minutes without finger sticks, cussing, swearing at the textile gods, or chucking everything in the trash because it was too hard to sew.My rows were straight and the weaving was super easy. I patched two holes in the same pocket and can keep the jeans for a while longer.
