The VELO 7 is a great computer and this is a great kit and the mounting system is a nice tool free system.

I needed to replace my 35 year old CatEye…it still works but the display was getting cloudy. Enough said about durability. The new one is much improved with a larger display, and the small increase in price for the computer + light combo is a steal. The LED lights are lightweight and bright with steady or intermittent light modes available at the push of a button. I have them on my road bike and commuter bike. Being conspicuous riding where cars are sharing the road could save your life

Durable, easy to install, nice and bright, and a good price too. Amazon wanted to know if it got good mileage???? and whether it was accurate and easy to read???? I guess it is accurate, the headlight shines straight ahead if you mount it right, and the tail light blinks in the same pattern that you set it on. Can't enlighten you on the mileage.

It is absolutely accurate. I tested it's accuracy by comparing the results with google maps. The bicycle computer has a lot of useful features like elapsed time, tripmeter, average and max speed, clock, etc and supports both kmph and mph units. The computer and both the lights are easy to remove and reattach so you can take them with you when you park your bike without worrying about them getting stolen. Easy to mount, lightweight, bright, different flashing modes and good battery life.

This comes with the HL-EL135 headlight, and omni 3 taillight. There's a very similar model headlight, the HL-EL130The HL-EL135 headlight is better than the HL-EL130 in my opinion because it has 3 flashing LEDs instead of just 1 LED. The EL130 headlight has a longer run time of 400 hours versus 320 hours, but that's because there's only one LED in the EL130 model. I like the EL135 because it offers more illumination and visibility. It runs on 2 AA batteries which last me several weeks per charge, and I use rechargeable batteries. I much prefer this setup over the USB rechargeable model headlights, which in my experience generally only last about 10 hours or less. The tail light is pretty good too, and uses two AAA batteries. It's very light. The only aspect I do not like about it, is that you have to push hard and hold down the power button for 2 seconds before it lights up. At first, I thought it didn't work, but then I realized I wasn't holding the on button down long enough. This also makes it more difficult to turn the light on while riding, such as when I get off the bike trail and onto the main street. I do like that the tail light attachment feature slides in horizontally, instead of sliding down to remove. I lost my last two tail lights when they slid off and hit the pavement due to average vibrations caused by uneven surfaces, and were run over by passing cars before I could flip a U and retrieve them. This is the first one I bought that clips on/off horizontally, which seems like a much brighter idea so that the vibrations don't wear down the clip on attachment point. The tail light also comes with a belt clip, so you can stick it to your back biking pocket or I suppose your helmet if there's a band on it.
