I'm focusing mostly on the ability to use these Headphones for outdoor use. They are definitely marketed for this. I do have other headphones for comparison, but none specifically for the outdoors. For reference, my favorite has been the Sennheiser HD 800 S. First off what set's these apart from the rest is the Gel Cooling Ear Pads! This is an issue I've had to deal with all my life... yeah, I'm a Hot Head! I sweat with very little motivation. Runs in the family, so these Headphones are being tested to its limits in this category! I'll come back to this, but want to start off with how the noise isolation fairs...Overall, fairly well! Especially when dealing with low-end machine noise, such as motors, refrigerators, etc. Not quite as good when dealing with wind. Specifically speedy high pitch wind, better on lower pitch wind. Which is really how it's noise cancelling works over all. Great on deeper sounding pollution, not as good on high pitch sounds. These headphones have basically 3 modes . Transparent, Noise Cancelling, and the all-powerful X-Mode! If you want the best sound just keep it on X-Mode. It basically maxes out bass and treble EQ. If not on this mode, it takes a pretty good hit to dynamics, and sound staging.Sound is always an opinionated, and bias preference of the listener. So here's mine... Treble is fairly adequate in presence, and crystal clear. Defined and airy, and nicely balanced. Mid-range comes across complete in range and has a nice richness to its tone. Never over bearing, or out phase. It rounds out the sound smoothly. Bass is pretty darn good for a wireless. No sub harmonics here, but goes pretty deep without overbearing the sound signature. I tend to be very picky concerning bass, but pretty much a winner here!I do have a couple gripes though. First and foremost, definitely pass on these Headphones if you have a large head and/or ears! I've maxed out the strap size which works okay, but the ear cups not-so-much. I took a picture showing the difference between the BlueAnt Pump X and my Sennheiser HD 800 S. Totally showing no inside room at the Inn! The X's has about an 1 and 1/2-inch width. The 800 S's have almost 2 and 1/4-inch of width. The X's has 2 inches of inside length, the 800 S's has 3 inches. After walking for an hour my left larger ear starts to get a pressure pain. My other gripe has to do with the Ear Cups again. The Gel Cooling ability doesn't last long on me. Though I sweat with little to no motivation when working out, I was hoping to get better heat relief with these. Oh well, hence why I like to work out when snowing. But a nice plus is these Ear Cups are very easy to take on and off...Bottom Line: If you have a small to probably a normal sized head you should be good to go! These Headphones, IMHO, do a nice job of combining listening to music, and working out at the same time! They definitely work best with well recorded music. Bringing said recordings brilliantly to life! Just be careful of mediocre recording. For the price, really hard to go wrong here!

First off, the packaging is great and feels very premium. The build quality of the headphones themselves is also good. The headband is adjustable and fits pretty snugly, so it doesn't seem like it will slip off easily. The earpads are easily replaceable, and it comes with an extra pair. This means that when they eventually wear out, I won't have to worry too much about replacing them. The headphones come with a nice case, which is convenient for carrying them around. There are also two types of earpads included: a cooling one and a general-use one. I personally prefer the feel of the cooling earpads. The cooling earpads are soft and comfortable, while also being breathable. If I’m not doing any intense activity while wearing them, my ears don't feel too warm or sweaty even after wearing them for an hour at a stretch. In terms of sound quality, these headphones are optimized for bass, and they even have a feature that lets you boost the bass further. The audio is clear, although not as clear as a higher end headphone like the Sony XM4 headphones (which is about double the cost). Mids and vocals seem pretty decent too, but the treble is a little lacking. Still, unless you are an audiophile and really pay attention to the small details in music, the difference won’t be too noticeable and likely won’t bother you much. The noise cancellation also works well. I've used them outdoors while walking around the city, and they effectively cancel out most of the background noise. They don’t work well to cancel out faster winds though. There's also a transparency mode that allows you to hear outside sounds when needed. The microphones pick up audio well, and it looks like there are four microphones built into the headphones. I asked some friends how it sounded when I talked to them on the phone when using these headphones, and they were able to hear me clearly. Another great feature is the battery life. I used them for about 5-8 hours a day for five days without needing to recharge, which aligns with the advertised 34 hours of battery life with noise cancellation and 58 hours without.

I purchased these for the cloth pads because I got tired of fake leather/vinyl pads always being hot and sweaty after wearing them for long periods of time. These really helped and are much more comfortable than my other wireless headphone brands (Bose & Sony). The sound quality nearly equals my other ones and these are much more user friendly. Equal to my corded high-end Grado stereo headphones...not even close, but bang for your buck these are pretty good for my wireless TV and computer use:)

BlueAnt Pump X - $169.99These have superior sound. I love that you can turn noise cancelling on and off, though I don't understand how that works. With these I can turn the volume down and still have clear sound. The bass and treble sound great. They are comfortable, and the cooling pads are so wonderful for working out and mowing! The blue tooth works perfectly without any hitches, and has an understandable name with BlueAnt in it. So often I get things with dumb names like 'x3552' and how in the heck would I know what these are? These don't feel too heavy on my head, and they don't squeeze my ears too much.
